Considering all the music that's out there, it's hard to find a band that has a unique sound. One way to get around this (for a band) is to make their own instruments. I heard these guys today and liked them a lot.
"Dyer plays a modified baritone-ukulele run through effects that squeal with delight, while Sanchez runs his guitar-bass hybrid through two amps (one for the three low-end strings, another for the treble)."
