William Tonks is a veteran and heavyweight in the Athens GA music community. His bands include Barbara Cue and Workhorses of the Recreational & Something Industry. This video is just him and it is awesome.

I had a few folks ask me about Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros album while I was in Colorado. It's been awhile since I listened to it, but I don't remember it being too memorable (a similar review given by Mitch). Most folks really like the song "home", which I posted a while back. But, I recently heard of a solo project from Alex Ebert (of the band) that sounds promising. I don't think the album has come out yet, but here is a sample:

Album of the Year: Age of Adz

The new Sufjan Stevens album just passed up LCD Soundsystem for album of the year in my book.

When you introduce someone to a band that you love and they've never heard do you start with what you think is the band's best work, knowing that if they like it everything else will not be as awesome. Or do you start in the middle of the pack and give them room to explore?

While you're thinking check this out from The Mynabirds
